WHY

  • In U.S. Schools Sub-Saharan African History, in most cases, begins and ends with slavery.

  • African American Figures and Impact is taught separately - in February.

  • We deserve to see ourselves in everyday life and know the importance of our contributions.

  • Create a Mentality Shift: We aim to show that all learners have equally immense potential. If we only see our ancestors as slaves, our bar of what's possible and what we need to do to succeed is extremely low - If we know our ancestors were innovators, engineers, philosophers and the like; we can move the bar of possibility and attain new heights.
